Welcome back to The Style Series – where we highlight Black influencers, stylists, and enthusiasts who set trends, are innovative with their style, and are a source of inspiration in the industry. Today, we tap in with Arbeilla Wilson!
Arbeilla Wilson has been passionate about style, fashion, and creativity since childhood. She fondly remembers playing dress-up with her mother’s enviable wardrobe, which sparked her love for fashion. As she grew, Arbeilla became intentional about her style, drawing inspiration from runway shows and fashion magazines. While her peers wore mainstream brands like Jordans and Nikes, Arbeilla confidently chose Vans and Ice Cream by Pharrell, often finding unique pieces at thrift stores. Her distinct fashion sense was always recognized by her friends, who saw her as a true “fashion girl.” Over time, Arbeilla explored styling others but discovered that her true calling was to be a voice in the fashion industry. She aims to make a meaningful impact by blending creativity with a deep respect for the foundations laid by those before her.

Advisor.: “How would you describe your personal style in three words?”Â
Arbeilla: “Feminine, Bold, Timeless”

Advisor.: “What are your go-to fashion pieces you can’t live without?”
Arbeilla: “A well-fitted blazer for instant polish. – Heels, particularly boots, they give me everyday versatility. – Rings, they add character to any outfit. “

Advisor.: “What current fashion trends you are loving, and how do you incorporate them into your everyday style?”
Arbeilla: “Oversized blazers: I love how they add a chic, effortless vibe to any outfit. I pair them with jeans or even over a dress. – Chunky loafers: They’re stylish yet comfortable, and I like wearing them with tailored pants or skirts for a mix of masculine and feminine energy. – Bold prints/colors: I incorporate them by mixing patterns or adding a statement piece like a scarf or bag to elevate simpler outfits. “

Advisor.: “What role do you think fashion plays in shaping cultural identity and self-expression?”
Arbeilla: “Fashion is a powerful tool for self-expression and cultural identity. It allows individuals to showcase their heritage, beliefs, and personality through what they wear. Fashion also creates a sense of belonging, as certain styles and trends can connect people to a specific community or movement. By embracing diverse styles, fashion celebrates individuality and fosters cultural appreciation. “
Advisor.: “One fashion item you’d never wear?”
Arbeilla: “Low-rise jeans. I prefer the comfort and flattering fit of high-waisted styles.”
